RACE DAY
We have one pre-season race, the Cato memorial race at Timberline.
This race is in memory of Christine Cato who was a member of the Beaverton High School Ski Team.  Christine died in an accident in the summer of 1989, just before her senior year. This is known as the largest high school ski race in the United States, with 3 Portland area ski leagues sending Varsity and JV teams to compete in this event.

After the Cato race, we have 6 metro league races,  taking place every Saturday in January and February. Included on the metro schedule is the annual Evan Wood memorial race.  Evan raced for Aloha HS, graduating in 2000. The metro schedule will consist of 3 GS races, and 3 slalom races.  Weather, safety and time permitting, each racer will race 2 runs per event.

Race day schedule
*8:15am: meet at ski area.....get ready!
*8:45am: team meeting with the coaches, get your race bib
*9:00am: ride chairlift and ski to your race course start area for inspection

(These times are not set in stone.  Ski racing has many factors that determine the timeline each weekend.)
