Hello and welcome to the Aloha-Southridge ski team website.  Here you will find all sorts of information about our team, along with pictures and videos to give you a glimpse of what we do and how we do it.  If you are an intermediate to advanced skier, we hope you will consider joining the ski team.  Never raced before?  Doesn't matter.  We'll teach you!  In fact, about 80% of the people that ski in our high school league had not raced before signing up.  We work hard, but we also play hard and have a lot of fun.  Click here for a glimpse of what high school ski racing is all about.  If you think you might be interested in joining the team or just have some questions, please don't hesitate to contact head coach Sean Mailey: Sean_Mailey@beavton.k12.or.us  503-259-5400 (work)

A little team history: Aloha HS and Southridge HS are actually two separate ski teams that compete in the metro league. When Southridge HS opened their doors in 1999, roughly half the members of the Aloha ski team ended up transferring to Southridge.  And since that time, the two teams have done everything as one entity, sharing the same coaching staff, training facilities, fundraising efforts, etc.  Our team is looking for skiers of intermediate ability or above, have a strong work ethic, and don't mind having FUN!  Past ski racing experience is a plus, but the majority of new people that join our team have never actually raced.
For the 2006-07 season, the Southridge girls won the metro league championship, their 2nd metro title in 3 years!! The girls went on to finish 6th at STATE, and were the top finishing STATE team out of all the portland metropolitan area schools that competed.  The '07 boys finished 3rd in metro, 15th at STATE.  Southridge was one of two metro league schools that qualified both a boys and girls team for STATE (2 years running).  The Southridge boys JV team had success as well.  They finished 2nd in metro in '07.

The future looks bright for the 2007-08 season.  Both the girls and boys teams lost some valuable skiers to graduation, but we are a very deep & motivated team,  and we look forward to kicking some more butt next winter.
